Chenab Valley Journalists Association, a member organisation of Jammu and Kashmir Press Association Friday condoled the death of renowned journalist and chairperson Kashmir Times group of publications, Ved Bhasin, who breathed his last late last night in Jammu after a brief spell of illness.

A condolence meet was organised in CVJA head office Doda under the chairpersonship of CVJA, Naseer A Khora. The meeting was attended by Bar Association Doda, Civil Society members and members of various social organisations. The participants condoled the demise of Ved Bhasin and observed two minutes silence. They also expressed sympathies with the bereaved family.

A veteran writer Adocate Imtiaz Mir said that Ved Bhasin will be always remembered for fearlessly upholding the freedom of press for which he was widely known.

President Bar Association Doda Advocate Asim Hashmi described Ved Bhasin as a great human being who maintained highest standard and ethics of journalism during the militancy in the state. “Bhasin highlighted human rights violations committed by both armed groups without caring his life,” Hashmi said. “He was outspoken and fearless person and always spoke truth.”
