SRINAGAR: The Executive Committee of the Jammu Kashmir Mechanical Engineering Graduates Association (JKMEGA), led by its President, convened a meeting on Tuesday with the Chief Secretary of Jammu and Kashmir.
The purpose of the meeting was to address critical challenges encountered by the engineering community, focusing specifically on issues within the domain of mechanical engineering.
Key concerns discussed during the session included the reorganisation of the Jal Shakti Department, initiatives to expand the Mechanical Cadre, ensuring opportunities for Assured Career Progression (ACP), and efforts to restructure the Public Works Department. Additionally, discussions covered the implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), enhancement of Engineering Service Rules, and revision of Schedule of Rates relevant to Mechanical Works.
Chief Secretary emphasised his dedication to bolstering support for the engineering fraternity, recognising the critical role these reforms play in advancing regional development.
The President JKMEGA conveyed heartfelt appreciation to the Chief Secretary for his receptive approach. He expressed optimism for positive advancements that would significantly benefit mechanical engineers and contribute to the overall progress of the engineering sector.
