A retired tehsildar Haji Salam Din Choudhary 70, died of a cardiac attack on Wednesday late afternoon in Rajouri area of Jammu.
According to a family source, Choudhary complained of chest pain following which he was rushed to a hospital. However, he died on way to the hospital.
Deceased was the father of deputy commissioner Bandipora Shahid Iqbal Choudhary and veteran journalist Zaffar Choudhary.
According to family members, the Nimaz-e-Jinaza of Choudhary, a resident of Rehan in Rajouri district of Jammu, will be held tomorrow.
Meanwhile, the Department of Information and Public Relations has condoled the demise of Choudhary Salam Din, father of Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary, Deputy Commissioner Bandipora and Zafar Choudhary, Senior Journalist.
“A condolence meeting convened at Directorate of Information here this evening under the chairmanship of Director Information & Public Relations, Tariq Ahmad Zargar expressed profound grief and sorrow over the demise of Salam Din Sahab, a former Revenue Officer,” an official statement said.
“All the officers and staff of the Directorate of Information were present at the condolence meeting,” it said.
“The meeting while expressing solidarity with the bereaved family, prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul,” said the statement.
