SRINAGAR: The Cyber Crime Investigation Centre of Excellence (CICE), Crime Branch Kashmir, conducted a cyber awareness programme at Shahi Hamdan School, Khumani Chowk, Bemina, Budgam district, on Wednesday. The initiative aimed to educate students and faculty members about potential vulnerabilities in their communication devices that could be exploited by cyber criminals.

During the programme, participants were briefed on various cyber crime reporting portals and helpline numbers to report any incidents in the future. The session began with an address by Deputy Superintendent of Police (SHO), CICE Srinagar, Ashiq Hussain Malik, followed by a detailed PowerPoint presentation by Inspector Masroor Ahmad and SG Ct Javid Ahmad.
The speakers provided insights into common day-to-day cyber crimes and advised attendees on preventive measures to protect themselves against such offences. Over 200 participants actively engaged with the speakers, seeking clarifications during a question-and-answer session.
The principal of the institution, Aijaz Ahmad Baba, praised the efforts of CICE Srinagar and extended his gratitude to the department for organising the programme at the school.
