The Jammu and Srinagar Master plans 2021 are under revision for the horizon period 2031 and 2032 respectively, Minister for Urban Development and Local Bodies, Nawang Rigzin Jora said that the final draft of the revised master plans is in advance stage of preparation and will be put for public objections and suggestions shortly.
The minister was replying to a question asked by Devender Singh Rana in the House today.
While replying to another question by S Dharambir Singh about the defunctioning of the streetlights, the Minister informed the House that none of the traffic signal lights out of the 31 installed in Srinagar city is defunct. He further said during warranty period the defected lights are repaired by the agency to which contract of installation is accorded, thereafter they are repaired by Municipal Corporation out of its own resources.
Jora further informed the House that a proposal is being formulated for installation of safety lights for pedestrians to cross the road as well as installation of traffic lights in leftover intersection junctions.
