Civil Society forum Kashmir (CSFK) has expressed grave concern over the investigation of the recent spurious drug scam in the state.

“As per  the report which  Crime Branch has  submitted before the high court, purchase committee II has over looked  various important aspects and has been negligent at the time of accepting tenders of supplier firm of spurious drugs that has evoked hue and cry across the state,” forum said in a statement to a local news agency, KNS on Friday.

“It is a matter of huge concern for any society where the lives of innocent, poor and sick people are being put at stake. There are already more than 50 cases of spurious or substandard drugs which are pending in the government corridors for justice but no strict action has been taken so far against the culprits,” said the Secretary General of CSFK.

The statement further adds, “We fail to understand what sort of message government wants to give by leaving these cases unjustified. This surely encourages the culprits for further mischief.” CSFK also demands stern action against procurement committee II instead of their transfers into other wings.
