Suspected militants on Thursday fired upon a party of the government forces in south Kashmir’s Islamabad district, leaving a civilian injured.
Taking to social networking site Twitter Police wrote, “Militants fired on Naka party of JKP/CRPF 116 Bn from a Santro car, which miss the target and hit one civilian namely Shakeeb Shabir from Shopian on his chest. High alert Sounded for interception of sentro.”
They said that a civilian injured in the firing incident was shifted to a hospital for treatment.
The area has been cordoned off by the forces, said the police.
