The Students of Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST) Awantipora on Thursday protested against the alleged force’s highhandedness.
Pertinently, government forces resorted to aerial firing and tear smoke shelling in and around the IUST early today creating panic and chaos.
Sources said that aerial firing by Army personnel took place outside the University campus but it created panic among the students and teachers who were busy in their routine work.
“Soon Army personnel and police entered the campus and fired live ammunition and teargas shells,” they alleged.
Meanwhile, witnesses said that Student protests were going on in the University against entering of forces into the campus.
