Srinagar

A complete shut down was observed in Shopian and Pulwama districts of south Kashmir for the 8th consecutive day on Thursday to mourn the civilian killings.

Reports from the area said all shops, business establishments, government and private offices remained closed in these districts while public and private transport was off the roads.

Sources said that heavy contingents of government forces were deployed at sensitive locations in the districts to maintain law and order, while the mobile Internet service in both Pulwama and Shopian districts remained suspended for the ninth consecutive day.
