A number of youth were injured, one of them critically, during clashes with the government forces following a cordon-and-search-operation (CASO) in Lone mohalla area of Khudwani in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Monday.
Reports said that scores of the youth from Khudwani and its adjoining areas took to streets and clashed with the forces during CASO. Forces resorted to tear gas and pellets to chase away the protestors, triggering more clashes.
According to reports, one of the injured boys was hit by a tear gas shell in his head during the clashes. The boy was first removed to district hospital Islamabad, where from he was referred to Srinagar for specialized treatment.
