Clashes erupt as forces lay siege to a Hajin village

Protests erupted in northern Kashmir’s township of Hajin in Bandipora district on Monday after forces launched a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) in the area.

Following inputs about the presence of militants in Bon Mohalla area of the township, reports said, army’s 13RR, Police and Special Operations Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir police cordoned off the locality.

They said that following the CASO scores of youth came out on roads and resorted to heavy stone pelting on forces. “Announcements were made on Masjid loudspeakers asking people to come out on roads.”

Clashes were going on in the area when this report was being filed.
