A special court of the National Investigating Agency (NIA) in Delhi Monday extended judicial remand of Shahid Yousuf in alleged Hawala funding case up to December 22.

Shahid is son of Hizb-ul-Mujahideen chief, Syed Salahauddin, and was arrested on October 24 this year when he was called for questioning to Delhi by the probe agency (NIA).

Shahid had applied for bail but it has been rejected by the court, sources said. He is detained in Tihar jail, Delhi.

“The court rejected the bail application of Shahid on the grounds that his brothers are taking care of his family back home,” sources said.

Shahid was produced before the judge around 11:45 am at Patiala House Court Complex from where he was brought around 1:30 pm, sources added.
