Clashes erupted between youth and the government forces after Friday congregational prayers in central Kashmir’s Charar-i-Sharief township.
Reports said that scores of youth assembled near the shrine and tried to march towards town amid anti-government and pro-freedom slogans.
Reports also said that youth pelted government forces with stones and forces swung into action and fired several teargas smoke shells to disperse the protestors.
A police official from Charar police post said that clashes were going on earlier but the situation is under control now.
