Clashes erupt in Kakapora after slain youth laid to rest


Thousands of people on Monday participated in the funeral of a civilian, who was killed in clashes a day before, at Kakapora area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.

Owais Ahmad Dar, 24, a resident of Kakapora was killed late Sunday evening after hit by pellets fired by government forces during clashes.

An eye witness talking to Kashmir Life said that soon after the funeral prayers were over hundreds of people took to streets and pelted stones on forces. Amid anti-India slogans by protesters, forces retaliated with tear smoke shells to disperse them.
