Clashes broke out between the youth and government forces in Pantha Chowk area of Srinagar on Tuesday after the government forces allegedly entered into a mosque to stop “anthems” being played on loudspeakers.

Reports said that the government forces entered into the Hanfia Masjid in Pantha Chowk to stop the broadcast being played in loudspeakers, the action triggered the clashes between the youth and government forces.

According to locals, three boys identified as Suhail Ahmed, Danish Ahmed and Inayat Ahmed were detained during the clashes.

Pertinently , a complete shutdown is being observed across valley in backdrop of the call given by JRL comprising Syed Ali Geelani, Mohammad Yasin Malik, Mohammad Umar Farooq against the killing of five civilians after forces opened fire into protesters in Shopian on May 6, who were demonstrating against the death of five militants, including to Hizb commander Saddam Padder, in Badigam village of the south Kashmir’s Shopian district.
