Clashes erupted in Pulwama town on Friday soon after the news about the killing of a local militant in Sopore encounter spread in the area
Reports said that scores of youth hit the streets as soon as the news of the local B Tech student Khursheed Ahmad Malik son of Ghulam Nabi Malik, who had joined militants two days back spread in the area.
Officials, however, did not confirm the killing of Khursheed.
They said that soon shopkeepers pulled down their shutters in the Pulwama town after youth pelted stones on government forces.
Earlier, a gunfight broke out in a Sopore village in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
