Soon after funeral prayers of a local militant Mussavir Ahmed Wani, clashes erupted between the youth and police in Delipora and its adjoining areas in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
Reports said that clashes were reported from several areas of the district since morning.
When contacted SP Pulwama, he said that minor clashes are going on in slain militant’s native village Delipora and its adjoining areas, but there are reports of any loss or injuries, adding that the situation is under control now.
Earlier, people from adjoining villages and other far-flung areas of the district marched to the village to offer the prayers.
Wani was killed on Friday evening during an encounter in Kangan area of the district. One AK 47 and one SLR gun and other incriminating materials were also recovered from his possession.
