Intense clashes erupted between forces and civilian protesters in Murran area of Pulwama district Wednesday afternoon.
Locals said that police tried to foil a pro-freedom rally ‘Muraan Chalo’ resulting in clashes.
They said that forces raided the venue of the rally and youth pelted stones on forces deployed in strength in the area.
Police retaliated by firing teargas shells.
Clashes were going on when the reports last came in.
