Intense clashes erupted near the site of a gunfight in Keelam area of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Sunday.
Reports said that youth took to streets and pelted the forces with stones near the site of a gunfight in Keelam area.
They said the forces responded by firing tear gas shells, triggering further clashes.
Earlier, a joint team of army and SOG Kulgam launched cordon and search operation in the area following inputs about the presence of militants.
As the joint team of forces approached the suspected spot, the hiding militants opened fire, triggering a gunfight.
