Gunfight broke out between militants and goverment forces in Keelam area of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Sunday morning.
Reports said that a joint team of army’s 9RR, SOG Kulgam and CRPF launched cordon and search operation in Keelam area after having credible input about presence of some militants in the area.
As the joint team of forces intensified searches hiding militants fired upon goverment forces triggering an encounter.
When last reports came in exchange of firing was going on.
Meanwhile internet has been suspended in Kulgam for precautionary measures.
