Soon after the killing of militants in Hanjan Rajpora area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district, people mostly youth took to streets and clashed with government forces near the gunfight site.

Reports said that scores of the youth took to streets and pelted government forces with stones to disrupt the anti-militant operation, and forces in return fired teargas smoke shells to disperse the protestors.

Earlier, four militants were killed during an encounter with government forces at Hanjan Rajpora in Pulwama. However, the identity and the group affiliation of the slain militants were not known immediately.

The gunfight broke out after a joint team of army’s 44RR, 182, 183 CRPF and SOG Pulwama launched cordon and search operation in the area.
