SRINAGAR
A university student was killed and more than 20 others were injured in a clash between two groups inside a mosque in Doda district.
Sources said that the clashes erupted over the control and management of a mosque and a piece of land affiliated to it.
The deceased has been identified as Sharafat Ali, who was a student of Masters. He was shifted to SKIMS Srinagar just after he was injured on Friday where he succumbed. Other injured have been shifted to GMS Jammu.
Clashes erupted between members of two groups of the same community who used iron rods and sticks against each other.
Sources said that they clashed over management of the mosque and a madrassa in Sartangal village of Doda district.
Sources said that the mosque has been closed in view of the incident.
