SRINAGAR: A group of class 12th students from Kakapora, Pulwama, held a demonstration in press enclave Srinagar on Saturday against the alleged discrepancies in the results announced by the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE).

The protesting students said that numerous students from Government Higher Secondary School Kakapora have been marked absent for the practical paper of the chemistry subject and subsequently marked as ‘reappear.’

“We have scored good marks in the theory paper, and due to the practical discrepancy, the entire subject is shown as ‘reappear,’ which has left us mentally disturbed,” they said.

The protesting students further mentioned that they had approached their concerned school authorities regarding the issue. “They informed us that they had submitted our awards and had also spoken to the board officials.”

According to the protesting students, the officials have stated that it was a technical glitch and not the fault of the students.

“Despite this, we are facing a lot of humiliation,” they said. “Now, we request the BOSE authorities to rectify the mistake as soon as possible so that our results are updated.”

They also added that almost 30 students from Kakapora Higher Secondary, along with two other students from the same village, are facing these issues. (KNO)
