SRINAGAR: The Directorate of School Education Kashmir (DSEK) has announced that classwork in all government and private schools across the Kashmir division will resume from Monday, September 8, 2025, after remaining suspended due to recent inclement weather and floods.
According to an order, the resumption has been cleared following safety checks after several school buildings were submerged and some structures sustained damage during the recent floods and gusty winds.
The DSEK has directed all Heads of Institutions and staff to ensure cleanliness and sanitisation of classrooms and premises in advance so that teaching can be conducted in a “safe, clean, and hassle-free environment.”
The schools have been closed since Wednesday due to heavy rains across Jammu and Kashmir.
