Chief Minister, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, Wednesday deeply mourned the death of Inspector Altaf Ahmad, who was killed after he was fired upon by militants near Gund Dachin, in North Kashmir district of Bandipora.

The Chief Minister visited Police Control Room, where he laid floral wreath on the mortal remains of the slain police officer, an official statement said this evening.

He expressed solidarity with the bereaved family of the deceased officer and prayed for peace to the departed soul.

Also present where former Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah, Chief Secretary, B R Sharma, Director General of Police, K Rajendra Kumar, Chief Vigilance Commissioner, State Vigilance Commission, Kuldeep Khoda, IGP Kashmir Zone, SJM Gillani, besides several other senior police officers.
