The condition of 79 year old Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir continues to be “critical” in All India Institute of Medical Sciences New Delhi.

A senior PDP politician, who had gone to enquire about the health of Mufti, said that Chief Minister has been suffering from acute pneumonia and he has been “continuously on ventilator” for the second day. “We were not allowed to meet him but what I got from doctors is that his condition is not stable,” he said.

When CNS contacted another senior politician for reaction on a particular news report on Tuesday, he responded, “don’t you know our leader is dying and I can’t comment on anything right now. He is serious and we all are disturbed,” he said. When asked to elaborate, the leader said, “Mufti Sahab is seriously ill and it will be a miracle if he will recover.”

Chief Minister Jammu and Kashmir Mufti Muhammad Sayeed is in AIIMS from past 13 days. He was flown to New Delhi a day after he had an extensive tour of Old Srinagar City where he inaugurated a Marriage Hall.

Official sources said his condition remained critical on Tuesday. “His vital organs are involved and he is on ventilator. His vital organs were involved.  His blood counts have also come down drastically,” sources said.

They added that the involvement of organs of the Chief Minister has become a cause of worry to the doctors, who continues to examine his condition regularly in the ICU.
