Asking his ministers to further improve their relations with common masses, Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed has directed his team to ensure that development works and projects started by the PDP-BJP coalition government in the state are completed on time.

Mufti, as per sources, was speaking to his council of ministers (including both cabinet ministers and ministers of state) at his official residence Gupkar last evening, where he had called them to get first hand appraisal of the developmental works started by his government. The CM stressed in strong terms that dilly-dallying or lackadaisical approach of officers towards the developmental works wouldn’t be tolerated, and directed the ministers to ensure accountability in their respective departments. The CM also discussed with his ministers matters relating to August 15 function.

Sources further told KNS that the Chief Minister also asked the ministers to further improve their public relation and ensure that bond between people and the government is cemented.

“We have been elected by the people of Jammu and Kashmir and now it is our moral responsibility to work for their betterment. While you should focus more on developments, administrative works, you should also get time to address concerns of people,” CM, as per highly placed sources, asked his ministers.

Sources said the meeting was attended by all the ministers of the PDP and BJP government.

“The Chief Minister said the main focus of the government should be on reviving the defunct institutions and restoration of their credibility as per the aspirations of the people, for which they have given their mandate,” sources said.

“The J&K state would not move ahead until we bring accountability, transparency in governance,” he said, adding that it was not a partisan coalition but a coalition of hope, reconciliation and opportunity which shall focus on removing the trust deficit between the State and rest of the country.

Agenda of Alliance is guideline for us to achieve the developmental goals,” CM, according to sources, told his ministers.

Sources added that Mufti expressed confidence that both the constituents of the Government will function in complete harmony and bring a new sense of justice, fair play to people of all three regions, and will to restore the confidence of the people in the system.
