SRINAGAR: Political leaders across Jammu and Kashmir have extended their greetings to the people on the auspicious occasions of Shab-e-Qadr and Jumat-ul-Vida, calling for prayers, peace, and communal harmony.
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, in his message, highlighted the spiritual significance of the two occasions, urging people to engage in prayers, reflection, and acts of kindness. “May these blessed occasions bring harmony, prosperity, and well-being to the people of Jammu and Kashmir. Let us pray for peace, unity, and the progress of our society,” he said.
National Conference President Farooq Abdullah also conveyed his greetings, emphasising that Laylatul Qadr is an opportunity to seek divine blessings and embrace compassion and piety. “The occasion reminds us to strengthen our faith and spend the night in prayer, seeking Allah’s forgiveness,” said Farooq Abdullah.
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha also extended his greetings, expressing hope that the prayers and blessings of these occasions would inspire a spirit of compassion and unity. “May Almighty Allah accept our prayers and guide us on the path of love and harmony,” he said.
Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary underscored the importance of charity and kindness, encouraging people to extend help to the underprivileged, as acts of generosity hold special significance during Ramadan. “Shab-e-Qadr is a night of divine blessings, reflection, and seeking forgiveness. Let us use this opportunity to strengthen our faith and work for the prosperity of our region,” he remarked.
Several ministers, including Sakeena Itoo, Javed Dar, Javed Rana, and Ali Muhammad Sagar, echoed similar sentiments, urging people to embrace the values of compassion, brotherhood, and social responsibility.
Minister for Agriculture and Rural Development Javed Ahmad Dar emphasised the historic and spiritual importance of the night when the Holy Quran was revealed. Similarly, Minister for Jal Shakti and Tribal Affairs Javed Rana said that these occasions are a reminder of righteousness, unity, and devotion.
