Chief Minister, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, Thursday extended New Year greetings to the people of the state and prayed for their well-being and prosperity.

In his message, Mufti Sayeed hoped that the people would experience a happy and prosperous 2016 with the state witnessing all-round development. “We resolve to rededicate ourselves to make J&K a strong, vibrant and a peaceful state,” he added.

The Chief Minister also sought cooperation of the people in “making J&K a model state in the country”, an official spokesperson said this evening.

Meanwhile, Member Parliament and PDP President, Mehbooba Mufti, too extended warm greetings to the people on the eve of New Year.

In her message, Mehbooba conveyed her heartiest greetings and wishes to the people of the state. She prayed that 2016 will bring with it new hope, resurgence and development for Jammu & Kashmir.

“May the New Year usher in peace and prosperity in the state, revitalize our energy and spirit of commitment towards achieving excellence in all walks of life,” she added.
