The funeral prayers of late Chief Minister, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, will be held at ‘Badshahi Bagh’ in his native village of Bijbehara in South Kashmir.

Badshahi Bagh, popular as ‘Dara Shikoh’ garden, is a Mughal garden which was restored by Mufti Sayeed.

Mufti breathed his last at AIIMS Thursday morning at 7:30 am in New Delhi.

Brother of Mufti Sayeed, Mufti Amin and other relatives have reached his ancestral residence.

Minister A R Veeri and Kokernag lawmaker and other police functionaries have reached the native town.

Witnesses said that the people have been asked to reach the area where the last funeral will be held. He will be laid to rest in his ancestral graveyard at Bijbehara.

Mufti’ body is being flown to Srinagar now from New Delhi where from it is being taken to his Gupkar residence and then a funeral prayer will be held at SK Cricket stadium here before being driven to Bijbehara.
