SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Saturday attended the concluding day of a two-day high-level conference on “Financing India’s Journey towards Viksit Bharat”, organised by the Ministry of Finance, Government of India.
The conference brought together Finance Ministers and Finance Secretaries from States and Union Territories with legislatures to discuss strategies for financing India’s long-term development and economic growth.
During the deliberations, Abdullah highlighted the relevance of the discussions for the future development of the country and Jammu and Kashmir, particularly in the areas of developmental financing, agricultural marketing and renewable energy.
The conference included sessions led by economists and other experts on different aspects of financing the country’s proposed development trajectory.
Key areas discussed included the macroeconomic outlook, financing agricultural transformation and funding the transition towards renewable energy.
The deliberations also examined challenges facing the country and opportunities linked to its long-term development objectives under the Viksit Bharat vision.
