SRINAGAR: The Assistant Director Tourism, Gulmarg, on Saturday said no permission had been sought or granted by his office for the proposed “Tantra in Silence at Gurez” event being circulated on social media.
In an official clarification, the tourism department said it had no information or official communication concerning the programme referred to in a post circulated through the social media handle “Tantra in silence at Gurez”.
The office said no application requesting permission for the event had been received or processed.
It further clarified that the proposed programme had neither been approved nor authorised by the Assistant Director Tourism, Gulmarg, and that the office had no association with either the organisation or the conduct of the event mentioned in the social media post.
The clarification comes after former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti and Mirwaiz Umar Farooq raised concerns over the proposed event.
