SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Friday met Karnataka Chief Minister DK Shivakumar in Bengaluru and congratulated him on assuming office as the Chief Minister of Karnataka.

The meeting took place on the sidelines of The Hindu Huddle event, where Omar Abdullah also participated in a discussion session.
During the interaction, Abdullah conveyed his congratulations to Shivakumar on his elevation and wished him a successful tenure in office. He expressed hope that Jammu and Kashmir and Karnataka would further strengthen cooperation and exchange best practices in governance, public welfare and inclusive development.
Speaking after the meeting, Omar Abdullah said it was a pleasure to meet Shivakumar in person and extend his greetings, adding that he was confident the new Karnataka Chief Minister’s tenure would benefit the people of the state.
DK Shivakumar was sworn in as Chief Minister of Karnataka on June 3, 2026.
