SRINAGAR: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Friday unveiled a Rs 1,13,767 crore Budget for the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
Presenting the Budget in the UT Assembly, the Chief Minister said the total net Budget Estimates for the financial year 2026–27 stand at Rs 1,13,767 crore, excluding provisions for ways and means advances and overdraft.
“The total net Budget Estimates for the fiscal year 2026–27 are Rs 1,13,767 crore, excluding the provision for ways and means advances and overdraft,” the Chief Minister said.
Of the total outlay, Rs 80,640 crore has been earmarked for revenue expenditure, while Rs 33,127 crore has been allocated for capital expenditure.
He announced that expected revenue receipts under the Budget Estimates 2026–27 are Rs 90,018 crore, while capital receipts are projected at Rs 23,749 crore.
The Chief Minister said the Union Territory’s own revenues, including both tax and non-tax sources, are estimated at Rs 31,800 crore.
“In addition, Rs 42,752 crore is expected as central assistance, along with Rs 13,400 crore under Centrally Sponsored Schemes for Jammu and Kashmir,” he said.
This is the second Budget presented by Omar Abdullah. Earlier, on March 7, 2025, he had presented his first Budget of Rs 1.12 lakh crore for the newly created Union Territory, which included several welfare measures, such as free travel for women on government buses.
