SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah is scheduled to move a resolution in the Legislative Assembly on Friday seeking the immediate restoration of full statehood to Jammu and Kashmir.
The resolution, listed in the Assembly Secretariat’s supplementary list of business for September 25, calls on the Government of India to restore full statehood to J&K on an urgent basis.
The proposed resolution also refers to two earlier resolutions passed by the House, on June 26, 2000 and November 6, 2024, and seeks to add the fresh demand to those resolutions.
If passed, the resolution would be forwarded to the Government of India, according to the text listed for business.
The supplementary list was issued by Manoj Kumar Pandit, Secretary of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly.
