The event was attended by Minister Javaid Ahmad Rana, Commissioner Secretary GAD M Raju, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Anshul Garg, Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Akshay Labroo, Commissioner SMC Faz Lul Haseeb, senior civil administration officers, and a large gathering of beneficiaries and their families.

Addressing the gathering, Omar—who also holds charge of the General Administration Department—emphasised the Government’s resolve to clear all pending cases under SRO-43 and RAS-2022 in a time-bound and transparent manner, providing relaxations wherever warranted under the policy. He stressed that compassionate appointments are rights guaranteed under an established policy framework, not favours, and highlighted the Government’s role in standing with families during their most difficult moments.

The Chief Minister also pointed out procedural gaps in case processing, noting that the onus should lie with the Government to complete formalities rather than forcing applicants to chase subordinate offices for months, adding to their hardship.

The handover marks another significant step in addressing the backlog of cases under SRO-43 and RAS-2022, ensuring institutional support for affected families.
