SRINAGAR: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Thursday inaugurated and laid e-foundation stones for a series of major development projects worth nearly Rs 100 crore in Budgam district, signalling a significant boost to local infrastructure and public services.
The initiatives include multiple Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) water supply schemes across Gudsathoo, Dreygam, Drang, Kultreh Wanpora, Qazipora, Awanpora, Rangreth Wavoosa, Checkmari Colony, Nowbugh, Delipora Badipora and Zaloosa, aimed at delivering safe and reliable drinking water to thousands of households.
Abdullah also inaugurated works for a multi-level car parking facility, announced the upgradation of the Kadalbal–Lasjan Road, and laid the foundation stone for a 2×35m steel truss bridge over Nallah Sukhnag at Beerwah, intended to ease traffic congestion and improve regional connectivity.
The Chief Minister was accompanied by Speaker Legislative Assembly Abdul Raheem Rather, the Jal Shakti Minister Javed Ahmad Rana, Advisor Nasir Aslam Wani, and several MLAs and senior officials from concerned departments.
