Claiming that Chief Minister Omar Abdullah was aware about the decision to execute Muhammad Afzal Guru, the family accused the CM of shedding crocodile tears
The family members said that they have been put under house arrest under Chief Minister’s directions ‘while the relatives were not being allowed to visit the family either’.
“What he (CM) has to say now. His father is holding cabinet portfolio in centre. If we suppose that Omar was not aware but was his father not aware?”, asked Muhammad Yaseen, Guru’s cousin.
“We have been put under house arrest under the directions of CM. Hurriyat leaders have been put under detention.
People and even our own relatives are not allowed to mourn or to visit us for expressing solidarity. This is the height of dictatorship and cruelty”, he added.
He expressed gratitude and thanked the people of valley for observing and expressing solidarity with the family, adding, “People proved Afzal is the son of nation and the Government of India deceived the whole nation. We don’t see any legislator protesting against the hanging except Er. Rasheed”, said Yaseen.
