Coalition candidates are likely to win in the Jammu Division while as National Conference and Congress candidates are leading against their rivals in Kashmir division.

Reports from Jammu reached so far suggest that coalition candidates are leading by a margin of 9035 and 9170 votes against their rivals. Sources said that counting for the Jammu province is in the final stage and the coalition candidates are likely to win both J1 and J2 seats.

For K1 and K2 seats in Kashmir province Ali Mohammad Dar of National Conference and  Abdul Gani Monga of Pradesh congress are Leading  against their rivals Yasir Reshi and Peer Hussain of PDP. Monga was leading by a margin of 2200 votes while as Dar of NC was leading by 2400 votes till last reports.

In the districts of Bandipora, Pulwama, Baramullah and Islamabad, coalition candidates were leading in the fifth round of counting.

Earlier counting for the four Legislative Council seats in Jammu and Kashmir under the Panchayat quota began in the morning.

National Conference and Congress – partners in the ruling coalition – are contesting the elections jointly and have fielded two candidates each for the four seats.
