Metrology department of Kashmir has forecasted further drop in the mercury in the coming days as the night temperatures across the Valley on Thursday remained below the freezing point.

According to Met officials the minimum temperature was 2.0 degrees Celsius below freezing point in Srinagar, minus 3.8 degrees in Pahalgam, minus 2.0 in Gulmarg, a whopping 10.2 degrees Celsius below zero in Leh and minus 5.4 in Kargil town of the Ladakh region.

The officials further said the present cold wave conditions would continue in the Kashmir Valley as the night temperature is likely to drop more gradually during the next seven days.
