Cold Day in Jammu Kashmir as Temperatures Plunge Below Normal

   

SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir experienced a cold day on May 31, with maximum temperatures across several areas recorded significantly below normal levels. In the Kashmir region, Srinagar recorded a maximum temperature of 14.5°C, which was 12.2°C below normal. Qazigund registered 13.0°C, 12.6°C below the usual. Pahalgam stood at 8.2°C, a deviation of 14.8°C from the normal. Kupwara recorded 12.8°C, 14.4°C below normal, while Kokernag and Gulmarg recorded 12.0°C and 6.8°C, registering departures of 13.6°C and 10.7°C respectively.

In the Jammu region, Jammu city recorded a high of 32.9°C, which was 6.1°C below normal. Banihal recorded 14.6°C, 13.2°C below the average, while Batote and Bhaderwah recorded 18.1°C and 18.4°C, which were 9.6°C and 10.4°C below normal, respectively. Katra recorded 28.6°C, a departure of 7.1°C from the normal.

In Ladakh, Leh recorded a maximum temperature of 16.8°C, which was 4.7°C below normal. (Kashmir Weather)
