The Met office has forecasted cold dry weather conditions across the state during the next 48 hours to Sunday morning, a met official told Kashmir Life.
Though, the night temperature in Srinagar was slightly better than what was recorded on Thursday, the cold wave continues to grip the state.
The minimum night temperature in Srinagar was recorded at minus 2.5 degrees Celsius, a shade better than Thursday which dropped to minus 2.7.
Kargil was the coldest town in Jammu and Kashmir on Friday recording minus 9.2 degrees Celsius night temperature, the official said.
Meanwhile in Leh, the lowest night temperature recorded was minus 8.4 degrees Celsius.
“The minimum temperature was minus 4.2 and minus 0.4 in Pahalgam and Gulmarg, respectively today (Friday),” the official of the Met department said.
“The night temperatures are likely to fall further as the present cold wave conditions would continue in the state during the next 48 hours,” the official said.
