Pakistan Prime Minister’s Adviser on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz has urged the Muslim Ummah to continue their support to the oppressed people of “Indian administered Kashmir”, Radio Pakistan reported.
He was speaking at the Emergency Session of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Makkah on Thursday.
The report added, “The Adviser highlighted brutalities in Kashmir against innocent and defenseless civilians peacefully protesting and struggling for the realization of their right to self-determination.”
The Turkish delegation, in its statement, also drew attention to the growing tensions in South Asia due to the Kashmir dispute and called upon OIC to send a fact finding mission to the Kashmir”.
The delegation called upon India to allow this Mission to visit Kashmir to verify the “human rights violations”.
Pakistan also joined other member countries in condemning the missile attack by the Houthi militia aimed at the Holy city of Makkah.
Sartaj Aziz also reiterated full support to the defence of Haramain Al-Sharifain and commitment to the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The Session approved the appointment of Yusuf Ahmad Al-Othaimeen of Saudi Arabia as the new Secretary General of OIC.
