Cold wave conditions continued in the Kashmir Valley and the Ladakh region on Wednesday as minimum temperatures remained below the freezing point.

Kargil in Ladakh was the coldest place in the state where minimum temperature was minus 9.3 degrees followed by Leh minus 9.1 degrees.

The minimum temperature was  0.2 in Srinagar, while it was minus 5.0  and minus 8.0 in Pahalgam and Gulmarg, respectively.

Jammu city recorded 9.6 degrees Celsius, Katra 8.2, Batote zero, Bannihal 1.6 and Bhaderwah 0.3 as the night’s lowest temperatures.

“The minimum temperatures were likely to drop further in the coming days,” a Met department official said.
