SRINAGAR: With snowfall blanketing Kashmir, several areas in south Kashmir experienced temperatures as low as minus 17 degrees Celsius.

Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, however, recorded a low of minus 0.3 degree Celsius, while mercury in Jammu settled at 5.7 degree celsius.

Larnoo in South Kashmir’s Kokernag was coldest at -17.7°C, followed by Sonamarg at -15.1°C

According to data shared by the Kashmir Weather, Gulmarg, a famous ski-resort resort has recorded a low of minus 12.0 degrees Celsius while Pahalgam recorded minus 11.9 degrees Celsius.

South Kashmir’s Anantnag recorded a low of minus 8.5°C , while Baramulla in north had minus -1.5°C

A few areas including Qazigund, Batote, Banihal and Bhaderwah recorded the lowest temperature in the last years.

Leh town in Ladakh region recorded minus 9.4 and Kargil minus 11.5 as the minimum temperature.
