Panic gripped the north town of Sopore Sunday when people found the body of a local college student who was missing from yesterday.
Police sources said that the body was recovered from a nearby orchard in Tarzoo area of the town and it had many bullet injuries.
The body was later identified as Abid Akbar Wani son of Mohammad Akbar Wani a resident of Alamdar colony, Krankshen Sopore.
Abid was missing from yesterday. Sources said Abid was living in his maternal uncle’s house since some time in Batepora area.
Sources said unidentified gunmen had shot Abid dead and was left tied with a tree in an orchard.
Local sources said that Abid was a student of final year in the Government Degree College Sopore.
Police said investigation has been launched into the incident after registering a case.
