Awami Ittihaad Party (AIP) President and lawmaker Engineer Rashid today said the two persons who died in Warsun Kupwara Friday evening were actually killed in inter party clash. Police had stated that they came under a police vehicle when it accidently slipped off track.

A statement issued by AIP said Engineer visited the home of two slain political activists at Warsun. Terming it to be the outcome of electoral confrontation, Rashid condemned political parties for using common people for their petty political gains and for spreading hatred.

“Political parties are using exploitative means and poor people are hoodwinked by these selfish slogans and are becoming enemy of one another and as a result losing their precious lives. I demand the government should investigate the Warsun tragic episode and identify the culprits who fueled the violence in the area and also identify the person on whose whims violence was carried out,” Rashid was quoted saying to an ‘obituary gathering’.

He claimed to have met the family of deceased persons and assured them full assistance. He also appealed to the Government to help these poor families.

“Political parties have not only destroyed the amity and brotherhood of Kashmir prevalent since ages and have destroyed peoples’ lives but now are crossing all limits by getting people killed. I appeal to people that irrespective of their affiliation to any political party they should keep their homes safe and promote humanity and brotherhood,” Rashid said.
