SRINAGAR: The price of a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder has been increased by Rs 993 with effect from today, while the prices of domestic LPG cylinders remain unchanged.
Indian Oil Corporation further clarified in a statement that petrol and diesel prices remain unchanged despite fluctuations in global energy markets. It added that retail fuel prices have been kept stable for consumers, who account for nearly 90 percent of total fuel consumption.
This marks the third increase in commercial LPG rates since February 28, following earlier hikes in March and April.
The oil marketing company also confirmed that aviation turbine fuel (ATF) prices for domestic airlines remain unchanged, as state-run companies have absorbed higher global input costs to protect the aviation sector. However, ATF rates for international carriers have been revised.
Meanwhile, the government has reduced the windfall gains tax on diesel exports to Rs 23 per litre and on aviation turbine fuel to Rs 33 per litre with immediate effect.
The Finance Ministry said that excise duty on petrol and diesel for domestic use remains unchanged.
