SRINAGAR: The Commonwealth Scholarship Commission (CSC) has announced the applications for Commonwealth Professional Fellowships. The application window for the Commonwealth Professional Fellowships will close on August 16, 2023.
These fellowships present a unique opportunity for mid-career professionals from low and middle-income Commonwealth countries to embark on a journey of professional development in the United Kingdom. By participating in this programme, individuals will have the chance to enhance their knowledge and skills while making a positive impact on their workplaces back home.
The Commonwealth Professional Fellowships are offered in six development themes, catering to various sectors viz., Science and technology for development, Strengthening health systems and capacity, Promoting global prosperity, Strengthening global peace, security, and governance, Strengthening resilience and response to crises and Access, inclusion, and opportunity.
To be eligible for these fellowships, candidates must be citizens of a Commonwealth country, or be a British Protected Person, and be permanently resident in an eligible Commonwealth country. The should have ave a minimum of five years of full-time, or equivalent part-time, relevant work experience in a profession related to the subject of the fellowship programme .
Candidates are required to provide at least two references, including one from their current employer. Applications without references will be considered ineligible.
The fellowship will provide airfare from the fellow’s home country to the UK, reimbursement of the standard visa application fee, monthly stipend (living allowance) of £1,944 (2,04,670.15 INR), arrival allowance of up to £1,061.10 (1,11,732.77) including an element for warm clothing.
Additionally, the CSC offers support for fellows with disabilities. Upon declaring a disability, individuals will receive a full assessment of their needs and eligibility for additional financial assistance.
