State Congress president Professor Saif-u-Din Soz Saturday said that Congress party is still dominant in Chenab Valley and It would make a total sweep in the region. He said that some vested interests tried to flare-up communal passion in Kishtwar for their benefits but they did not succeed in their designs.

“We are still dominant in Chenab Valley and the recent communal clashes that erupted in Kishtwar did not affect the party and it is still vibrant there. Congress party demands speedy action against the culprits so that they could be exposed,” he told CNS.

Soz said that the government has already ordered judicial inquiry and hopefully the culprits behind the scene would be exposed.

“Those who say that communal clashes in Jammu region would prove fatal for Congress party are wrong. We would approach people and they would surely vote for us,” he said.
